Martin Eigner

Martin Eigner is an expert for Product Lifecycle Management and Engineering Processes. After graduating in 1980 at the University of Karlsruhe (Germany) in the area of CAD, Prof. Eigner was head of Technical Data Processing in a division of Robert Bosch GmbH. In 1985 he founded EIGNER + PARTNER INC., which was sold to the US company Agile in 2003 and later to ORACLE. In 2003 he founded EIGNER Engineering Consult, a consulting company for the optimization of engineering processes with focus on Product Lifecycle Management.

Since 1984 Martin Eigner has been lecturing at universities and authored/co-authored eleven books and several technical papers on CAD/PDM/PLM, IT in Engineering and Systems Engineering. In 1985 he received the VDI ring of honour and in 1994 and 1999 was granted a honorary professorship.

At present Martin Eigner holds the chair in Virtual Product Engineering (VPE ) at the University of Kaiserslautern. In addition to his professional and academic activities he is member on advisory boards of various professional and academic associations, f.e. ProSTEP Association (Automotive), GfSE (German Subsidary of INCOSE), WiGeP (Association of German Institutes for Product Development) and acatech (technical academy).

Peter Fassbender

Peter Fassbender studied Industrial Design with a specialization in Automotive Design at the Fachhochschule Pforzheim in Germany and in 1989 went to Turin for his love and passion for Italian design. He worked for 12 years at the Centro Stile Fiat and ended up as Chief Designer Exterior. In 2002 he opened for Fiat Automóveis S/A Fiat the Style Center Latin America in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Up to date, this is the first and only Fiat Design Center outside of Europe and it is responsible for the design of all Fiat Products in South America.

Among the various activities of the past few years in Brazil:

  • A special product line known as the 'Adventure' version launched on different models and only present in Latin America.
  • Another important product was the New Fiat Uno which is the first 100% local development result and it was named 'Car of the year 2011' in Brazil winning different awards for it's simple and sympathic Design, created by the young and motivated brazilian design team.
  • In 2010, the innovative project Fiat Mio was presented at the Car Show of São Paulo, it is the first 100% open source car developed by a car company and has won different awards in Estrategic Design.

Charles Gagnon

As Director of Technology Business Development at Hydro-Québec since 2000, Mr. Gagnon has been leading a fundamental culture change in innovation management by introducing the industry best practices and most recently, open innovation processes. He is also responsible for managing all matters related to intellectual property, commercial licensing, royalties, innovation partnerships, economic analysis of innovation portfolios and innovation management processes.  Hydro-Québec is one of the leading electrical utility in the world to invest more than 100 M$ in R&D per year.

Prior to this, Mr. Gagnon acted as Head of Research in Transmission and Distribution Technologies at Hydro-Québec’s research institute (IREQ).

In 2010, Mr. Gagnon was awarded the Quebec-Japan Business Personality of the year 2009 award.  In 1995,  Mr Gagnon was part of the R&D team responsible for the real-time power system simulator who has received the top prize for the most important achievement of the last 25 years at Hydro-Québec.

Mr. Gagnon has published numerous papers in international journals related to power system studies, software development, real-time simulation and R&D management best practices. He has been involved in many international projects and business operations, notably in Japan and China.   Mr. Gagnon sits on the board of many innovation associations in Canada.

Since 2008 Moises has worked in the development of the product backbone of the A350-XWB, consolidating a new product identification development process that has been released as a core business practice to be exported to previous and future Airbus programs. In the last two years he has promoted CM in front of the Airbus R&T portfolio, finally getting CM as one of the key transversal enablers for PLM innovation activities.

Volker has more than 15 years of experience in different management positions responsible for technical computing methods and technolgy development. He began his career with the development of a heat balance simulation code for water/steam cycles of fossil power plants including the change management while introducing it to the global engineering network. Next step on Volkers career path was the responibility for a CAE/CAD/CAM blade path design chain for steam turbines comprising the code development as well as the further development of the blading technology. Before taking over the current position, Volker became manager of steam turbine technologies supplying rules & tools for the global steam turbine engineering network from tendering through product development and design until validation at customers sites.

Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Halpern was the director of research at D. H. Brown's Engineering, Manufacturing, and Design research and advisory services. With the Engineer Degree of the French High School "Ecole Centrale de Paris" in 1985, M. A. Soubeyran receives the PhD Thesis Degree of the "Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace" in 1991 for his work on spacecraft charging in the Space Technology Laboratory of ONERA. He first joins the Numerical Modelling Department in MATRA MARCONI SPACE (now ASTRIUM) and then in MATRA Systems & Information (now CASSIDIAN), spending also one year in Canada with Bell Mobility. Jos Voskuil

Christian Rossmann is a managing partner of ForceFive AG in Munich, Germany, having an exhaustive experience in PDM/PLM-Processes and is a specialist in the early phase of product design. With his background as a mechanical engineer, he has dealt with opportunities of efficiency gain in PDM/PLM design processes for over a decade, , e.g. at Boeing Commercial airplanes. Within the framework of BMW's introduction of CATIA V5, Christian worked on its integration with VPM. He was later involved in BMW's PEP PDM-Project to integrate the logistical SAP product structure and the PRISMA database for design data.
